But stuck more often.
I wonder if there is any interest in a welding 101 style meet and greet. I have a few projects I need to get done in the next month or so, after that I could host it. I have my 220v welder and a dedicated 30 amp 120 if someone wanted to bring a smaller unit over. We could team teach a basics style class. Note: I'm not a very good teacher, but could have anyone welding beads by the end of the night.

I'm resurrecting this a bit! I would love this if this came about. Never welded anything in my life, but have always wanted to learn how. I'd be happy to pay for a class as well. Maybe we could get 4 or 5 people to pitch in $20-$30 each or something and make it worth the teachers time to spend a few hours.

The welding night thing keeps coming up, and it keeps dying an early death.

I'll offer my place up. I have limited driveway space with no shade, and I don't have 220v wired up. But if there's somebody with skills willing to share them with a bunch of noobs, I'd be happy to host everybody at my place for a tech night.

my friend and also a member on here dugfab has done personal welding lessons in the past if you're serious contact him. Aside from the fact he can lay beads like a robot he actually was a welding teacher at a high school back in California and also was a welding instructor at job core here in Utah for a while when they first moved to Utah.

I'm pretty close to setting a date for a "class" at my house. I have tons of room in my garage for maybe 10 guys. The problem is that there will be a lot of standing around while I work with one guy at a time. I think it would be nice to have another guy bring his 110v welder. Then we could practice with that and my 220v, and it would let you guys see what different machines will do.

I may be able to help teach if you like. I did structural welding for about 4 years with gas and was pretty good. 220 and 110v is a slightly different animal though I still do good :rofl:

Not that I am that good, in fact due to old age it is getting very difficult to do and very frustrating, ( shaky hands and blurred vision)
I am the merit badge counselor for our scout troop.
Sad part is many of the scouts are not interested.
