D60's are like Banshees at the sand dunes.......everyones got one   *** That's definatly not a bad thing, and D60's are about as good as it gets for strength, and adaptability. My money is on something different though. I like the FJ80 idea a lot or my (personal) Toyota dream.......Portals (even as much as people put them down  ). It really is all up to it's intended use, but there is nothing worse than dumping a bunch of money into somthing that isn't up to the challenge that eventually needs to be replaced altogether.

Hope to hear from Yotaman soon, and see where the project is headed

Portals???? :ugh:

I guess they're not bad if you leave them full width. You have to watch the steering knuckles because they will seperate on you. It helps to have a spare set (no, I'm not kidding) to rob parts off of.

Reduction units and lockers were what I broke most. The cool part about portals is everything is bolt on. Even when I busted a steering knuckle, it was a 2 hour bolt on process to fix.

Really bad aspect is parts are incredibly hard to find, thus, the extra set of axles as spares.

All very True ;) plus their a little harder to fit as far as suspension work goes, and I've heard stories of the outrageous gear slop. They would be cool though, and I think that if they can hold up to the extra weight of a Unimog/Volvo than stuffing them under a light Toyota pickup (in my case) would probably be OK (?). I wouldn't run larger than 40's (give or take) either so that would help a little.

It's more or less one of those "If I ever won the powerball" type of things ;)

use a yoater axle, throw long feilds in it and call it good your rig is a 95 so its pass. drop. put in dual cases. you will have fun. i recomend doing it your self it gives you the bragging rights, plus its honestly not as hard as you think. especialy if you get marlins kit, youll prolly be in the swap and dual cases $3000 to $3500

Well there seems to be a lot of avenues that I can take with this project. I feel that I will need to do some searching on my own for now and come up with what would be the best for the best $$$. I just hope I can pull through with this project. I don't want to wheel hardcore but I would like to do what most wheelers can. I was thinking of running 35s under it cause remember I will need to use it on the road around winter time. Well I'll look over what has been said and take everything into consideration. Thanks for all the help guys!:D
