I don’t have a bike yet. I’m kind of waiting to see how he does on this bike. I’ll either get myself something similar or get him a smaller bike and use this one.
Based on his first couple ride up and down our street I think he’ll be fine on it though. Might have to drop the rear end an inch or so.

It's amazing how quick they learn and how quick they grow. I wouldn't lower it, a couple rides and he won't even notice it's tall.

He noticed it last night! He went to stop and just happened to stop over a dip in the road. He put his foot down and didn’t find anything. Over he went. We had talked about holding the bike up and when to let it go and get out of the way. He got some practice in on letting it go, and broke the clutch lever in the process. 😂
I didn't know levers even came with longer ends until I was an adult..

Hey make sure you get him a set of folding levers for the next ones. You can also do a few turns of Teflon tape under the perch so that when it hits it spins instead of breaking the perch.
