zukijames' 86 sami

i guess i will put my rig on here (im pretty bored)

about 3 years ago i headed up to heber city with josh(toyotarockhead) and picked up a little zuk buggy

it had gears , lockers, yj spring swap, awesome 84 inch wheel base

I thought it was as built as i would ever need, i borrowed the money from my parents and remember telling them it was already built and i wouldnt have to spend any money on upgrade parts... hahaha

it was off road only and took some work to get it back on the road. i made some rear fenders installed tail/brake lights

i wanted more flex and josh had some toyota rear springs so i threw them up front

went to snakes to test them out

this pic was right after my first flop! dang waynes world. tried once more in the rain and didnt make it. finally i made got to try again this summer and made it !

Then i went to moab with josh and goose

decided i needed more wheelbase before i went down there so i got some more yota rears and put them on all corners and swapped to yota axles

i loved the new stance but still wasn't long enough to keep up with goose and josh

second flop at the snakes! i had no hydro assist so to be able to turn i had my arb turned off.. started tipping tried to throttle out and the tire in the air spun(bad driving im just making excuses)

tricky recovery just me and my gf on the trail and my 2000lb rear suspension winch mounted up in the frame rails

its never been a good camping rig

so i traded the yj swap for some old coil overs and radius arms and linked the front, the coils were so still that id did worse after linking it!

Yeah the little Zuk did good I'm adding alot of weight so it probably won't climb
As well but for everything else will be alot more exciting to drive

Thanks for the complements

Hey James, looks good. I saw your vids of St. George with Goose. Looked fun. How do you like the new tires?

I love my treps I just wish they were bigger there 37s worn down and re groved

I have 2 sets of 40 inch Goodyear Mtr old style that I'm excited to try but I know they won't hook us as good as the sticky treps

Thanks Brandon .. When we going to build yours ;)

haha. im going to lowrange today with a few things to get credit and am debating right now on what to get to help build this sucker up. just sure wish I could just get the cash instead of credit so I could have you guys make me sliders, new rear bumper, and tube fenders to replace my current fenders and some tube fender flares.

sigh....someday :(

once again brandon... no need to build it up. Just take it out and wheel it as is. It'll go places that'll make you scared.

lol I know I know. I actually might be taking it out to the oregon coast to wheel some with my younger brother and my father in april and will be testing out the solid axle swap im putting in. I have requested some time off in the spring to go wheeling and some funds so as long as the wife is healthy I will be getting out in the spring with my sidekick. definately dont want to wheel in the winter due to my tires and my last winter wheeling experience.Besides whats the fun in not building something? even if not wheeled.

Lol I wish it was really done. Ruff stuff forgot to make my axle I ordered forever ago So that doesn't help!

I'm not smart enough to figure out my clutch and throw out bearing.. It's going to be awhile
