Miller Motorsports Park craziness

Very conflicted... and to think there were local companies looking to take it over as a track and maintain the status quo. I'm suspecting the auto manufacturer represents far more to the county in terms of jobs and tax revenue, something Tooele badly needs.

Interesting. Volvo has done some big truck events there in the past (training and test drives of big rigs), they probably saw this as an opportunity to have a built in facility?

It will be interesting to see what really happens. The developer quoted in the article who wanted to make the track profitable, build condos, office buildings and houses is probably a good choice NOT to sell to. Sounds like more dreams than reality for the area and I can easily see half-finished project sitting empty.

Interesting that the news tried to contact the mayor of Tooele for comment since the land is in Grantsville.

ive heard through the grapevine (EDIT: STRICTLY RUMORS) that all the fun stuff that we like (short course track and rock course) will mostly likely be taken out..... :(

Well lets all get out there one more time before the sh*t hits the fan. Im down for the rock-park or some go-karts. ( I might dominate the karts though).:D

Keeping it open but all racing will be done with cheap Chinese knockoff vehicles, that the only stipulation they left out. Get ready to route for your favorite racing team, Hando or Toyoto, your choice.

So not closing?

Not closing. Still hosting races plus using track as research/development plus plans for building race cars at the facility. I have not heard anything about the kart track or off-road park, but logically hard to see why they would close either.

I agree it would be nice to see it being bought by an American investor but its still going to create American jobs in the small town of tooele.

I think it was pretty safe to say that there is not an American company out there that would have a serious interest in the type of track, this isn't for NASCAR. I doubt most of those upset about "The Chinese" buying the track (when in reality it is one company, owned by a man who happens to be Chinese, that is buying it) would have cared if an Italian sports car company had bought it.

A rather embarrassing and ugly face of racism, in my opinion.

The same company is building a Volvo factory in South Carolina and we all know that even "American" cars use part, materials etc from throughout the world and that many "foreign" cars have factories here in the states.

I agree. If you won't go to MMP because of the Chinese, then I assume you don't own an IPhone or Xbox or Playstation either.
