We are planning another trip that I will want an SUP for. I can rent a set for about $100 for the weekend.. So it hasn't really added up to buy a set for the little use. However, we may use them more if we had them.. are the lower dollar boards worth anything? I can only imagine the 1,000's of options and prices would confuse a newbie like me..

What are the advantages of a solid board..
All I can think about is the downside of trying to transport and store a couple huge boards...

For me it was price. I couldn't find any inflatable ones in the size or weight capacity needed for my fat butt cheap. I knew the ones I ended up with worked good for guys my "size" because I knew people that owned them. So I didn't gamble on a cheap inflatable board.

If she likes it, that's all that matters.

We recently upgraded to new sea eagle SUPs. My wife has a needle nose and I have a 11' hybrid. Since I'm always on flat water, I think I prefer the needlenose.

We are headed to the tetons today to paddle them around for the next few weeks. If anyone wants to come join us, we would love the company. Curt? You up for a road trip?

We went paddleboarding outside of pinedale, wy a few weeks ago. SUPER fun. We are really digging these sea eagle SUPs. (Disclaimer, they're a sponsor).

They've lightened the weight up sognificantly. They're now 24 lbs for the 116 model and we for the 11' LB. I still like the needlenose best.

Just got a second board. An Isle 11' explorer. This board is so much lighter than my other one. I was worried it wouldn't be as rigid when inflated, but I went out today after work and it is every bit as rigid. Light weight, rigid, awesome.

Anybody actually used one like it? My wife has REALLY enjoyed our last few after trips that have had kayaks and paddle boards, so I thought I'd buy one. I got a once used nearly new one for half the new price.. Hopefully it's decent.

I need a good inflatable kyak for my son. I would like a two person, so another child can join him. Any input everyone has will be appreciated.

I didn't look at the one in the link, but I would only consider one with a drop stitch floor (unless it is a packraft). The drop stitch tech. is what makes inflatables rigid and not floppy.

I have a couple of the previous model of this Advanced Elements model. We have enjoyed them for years. They are made much better than the average consumer item like the one linked to above. I'd be willing to part with one if it is something you are interested in. "Child" in the above statement is the key word - this kind of thing isn't big enough for two adults.

We haven't used the new one yet, but I did blow it up, and it was very similar to our first one. I don't think they are serious use type boats, but they will be very sufficient for our few times each year that we visit a lake. My old man back and knees don't do the paddle boards for very long, but I can sit in the kayak all day.
