    G2 R&P Gears

No I haven't seen Dana Brand gears for the Ford 9". I wasn't aware that they were available. I will look into that.

    Who's running a Ford 9"

So would it be that much of an upgrade from a Dana 44? I have Moser shafts in my 44 that's in the rig now. So is a 9" enough of a gain to justify the expense, or would the next logical upgrade be a Dana 60?

    Who's running a Ford 9"

After rebuilding the 9" in my son's 78 F-150 I got thinking about it as a crawler axle. Yes it's got a low pinion but in a rig with plenty of rear drive line (such as an early Bronco) that wouldn't be too big of an issue. It looks like it would have really good clearance. I have read posts...

    G2 R&P Gears

Yea, that's where I saw them I think. The only other gears I am really familiar with are Dana, but they don't have them for the 9" as far as i can tell. I did find Yukon, but I haven't had any experience with them either.

    G2 R&P Gears

I am regearing my sons F-150 from 3.54's to 4.10. For the 9" rear I have seen good deals on G2 brand gears (I have a set of Dana/Spicer gears for the front 44). I have no experience with this brand and was wondering if anyone had used it? Quality etc. Thanks.

no safety inspections vs fender tire coverage......

The safety inspection process being discontinued isn't going to change the vehicle equipment laws at all. Everything will remain the way it is, it will just now be up to the patrol officer to enforce these laws rather than the individual at the garage. After speaking with a mechanic friend of...

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

So how big of a deal was the cutting/welding on the TMR kit?

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

So did your shave job eliminate the bottom bolt? If so do you have any trouble with the diff cover leaking?

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

I don't suppose you have pictures of your shave job do you? I'm interested in what it would look like done.

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

Just curious. When you break your 9" what is breaking? Shafts, center section?

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

Thenag so I read your linked post. Is going with the cable E Brake as big a pain as it sounds like? I would really like to have one as I'm running a 4spd for now.

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

OK. It sounds like maybe I'm worrying about something that doesn't matter. No I'm not a competitive driver, I just enjoy more extreme trails than most do. I accepted many years ago that occasionally breaking parts was part of the game. I just don't like to break any more than necessary. I pulled...

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

What size tires do you run on the Wrangler with the 14 in it?

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

Are you running stock 30 spline shafts, or hardened 35 spline?

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

Yea the 14 is built like a brick crap house for sure. Only thing I worry about is on 35's will I be dragging it everywhere I go. I do have the 31 spline big bearing 9" I could use. It would have a lot more clearance. When I was running standard width on my Scout I had 44's front and rear ( they...

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

OK so I got the 14 bolt home and sitting on the jack stands----- HOLY CRAP, IT'S HUGE!!!!!!. Had a Dana 60FF sitting next to it and a Ford 9 inch in the corner. Makes both of them look like a joke. First time I have been around a 14 bolt (it was given to me so I.m not out any $$$). So I'm...

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

That's kind of what I was thinking. With the cut/grind method you supposedly gain 1 1/4" vs 2" for the full machine and plate in version. Not really sure the 3/4 " is worth all the extra labor involved.

    14 Bolt Shave Kit

I have been looking at the available shave kits for the GM 14 bolt. There seem to be several types. First I saw was from Barnes Offroad. Basically bolt the new armor cover on and grind away everything below the cover. The second type I found were from TMR Custom and Ballistic Fab. These you...

    Wagoner 44 rear

    Jeep Cherokee/ J-10 wide track

I'm in the process of an axle swap on my Scout II. I have a FF Dana 60 rear under it now that came from a 73 F-250 2WD. It measures out at 66" WMS-WMS. From what I have been able to find the match for this (with a passenger side diff) would be a Dana 44 from a Jeep J-10 or Cherokee Chief. I have...
