Bill the MutTJ

Long story short. This jeep has lots of stuff. Most of it is completely custom. I have lots of cool buddies and family that has helped me along the way to design and build this Jeep. The custom parts far out number what is left of the stock parts. At least it still looks kinda like a TJ

Specs:

Suspension

Low and lots of up travel
3 link front
4 link rear
Summit Machine flex joints
14" Fox 2.0 coil overs
Fox air bumps
Pac Springs
2" 7075 solid aluminum links
108" wheelbase
~18" frame height (I think this equates to about 2" of lift? Ish?)

Drivetrain

5.3L -> 4L80e -> TWF 3 speed Hero

Front axle: Tera CRD 60, 3.5" tubes, Reid inner and outer knuckles, Yukon zip locker, shafts and u joints, TeraFlex SlimLock hubs

Rear axle: later model E350 D60, big tubes, 35 spline shafts, zip locker

Misc
Boat sides

IH Corn Husker steering gear

Front and back halfed frame

2" x .120 wall DOM roll cage

21 gal fuel cell

Raceline Bead locks and 37" mtrs

That covers the big stuff. So much to list. The pics can do the rest of the talking. Let me know if you have any questions or want any more detailed pics and I'll see what I can do. Sorry for the random order. I just grabbed a few out of the many that I have.

Thanks Steve, so far it is proving to be stable on the few things I have pulled up on. I want to get it in the dirt to try it for real. But I hate mud and my power steering pump is currently getting some love at Howe because the front bearing was squeaking.

Here's a shot of how I mounted the driver's seat. It has about 6" of adjustment. This way I can let my friends drive too! The sliders ride one Delrin bushings for easy adjustment.

The dirt has been hit and fun has been had. Only a couple small issues to work through this week and then hit it again Saturday.

While everyone else is heading to Moab, I went out to 5 mile again with my family. Good times!

Weighed this thing today. I was not surprised but I had hoped it would come in a little lighter. Big parts = big weight.

4723 lbs
53.1% on the front end. Pretty evenly balanced. The weight distribution is close to a more stockish jeep.

That's surprising. Mine without doors and a windshield, but with a doubler and heavy steel rockers and steel quarters and steel beadlocks and swampers and 14 gallons of gas is only 4180.

I would think coilovers and AL links would weigh less than heavy square links, coils and shocks, but perhaps the auto and 14 bolt are super heavy?
An iron block LS weighs about the same as a 4.0.

No 14 bolt for me. I have a 60 out of an econoline. The 4L80 weighs about 275 lb from what I have read. And the hero is 150 lb. I definitely added weight in a lot of places. It is still lighter than it was though. So that's a win.

Where'd you weigh yours? I was able to use Teraflex's corner scales.
