Steve's Sidekick Build

Good question. There are a few reasons:

1.
The toyota came with leaves - a lot easier to stick with leaves
the Sidekick came with coils - a lot easier to stick with coils

2.
Secondary reason:
there are only 2 or 3 lift options for the sidekicks and this one is the most capable. There isn't even a leaf spring kit available for sidekicks, so coils were my only option.

3.
Toyotas with leaves just plain work. I didn't see the cost/benefit for links, and I wanted to keep the bed and keep it street legal. It was VERY capable with leaves.

4.
When I built the yota, I didn't have the skills, knowledge, or the budget to do links. I think I finally have the skills and budget now. I still don't have the knowledge of how to design a link suspension, so that's why I went with a bolt-on kit with the sidekick. I'll probably try to design my own link suspension on my next build (assuming there's a next build).
