The "budget" or "beater" rig comments in my other thread got me thinking and wondering what years rigs most of us use for wheeling.

If you have multiple vehicles, mark all that apply.

Not after comments or a debate.....just thought this would be interesting to know.

I've got a '93 YJ. It had the 4.0L with fuel injection, a hardtop, stock, and within my price range - all the requirements I needed.

I put 2000+ for my buggy, and 1994 for my 4Runner.

If I still had my last rig I'd have put the oldest category, since it was a 1947 Willys. It had a 1984 Toyota motor/drivetrain in it, and was rock-solid reliable.

Sometimes newer stuff is great, sometimes the simplicity of older stuff is great.

I built my chassis in 2004. The engine and transmission are 1989 (un-rebuilt w/ 250,000 original miles)

I selected 2. Our XJ is a '98 and my project 4Runner is a '87. Both have their pros & cons, but in the end they are pretty similar.

I wheel a 1998 TJ that only has 16,000 Original Miles and I have taken my 2003 Dodge Ram CTD out a few times.
