I do think that it's a couples decision, however holding out to have a girl very well may just get you another boy. ;)

My wife was not on board with the idea when I first brought it up. She thought there may be more for our family. I was adamant about not having any more (multiple good reasons, but too long to explain via phone keyboard)
Our youngest is 4.5yrs now, and my wife agrees that starting over with a baby would not be ideal... So she is more willing to agree with me now. I have some trips planned for January and March, so it looks like February will be my turn :)

My wife's hold back is the guy/girl ratio in the house. I have a 2 year old and twins due any day, and they are all boys. She wants to try again for a girl already, I am not up for the challenge.

Go ahead and get it done then, but be supportive in her desire to try for #4 after you are done. I kid, I kid.

I went to grandview family medicine (Provo hill on state street). The procedure was done by Doctor Robinson. He was great, laid back, and very thorough with explanations and addressing any concerns. Both my brother in-laws also went to him and both had great experiences.

I'm going in to my family practitioner on the 31st for a consult. I didn't know where to start so I called him. I've heard Dr. Pratt in Provo and Dr. Childs in Salt Lake County are good too.

My wife's aunt and uncle ended up with five boys under the age of eight in their quest for a girl. No twins in there, either.

Going to wait until January to get onto next years deductible...

$15 copay is all I have to worry about. :D

Well 5 days later and I feel basically back to normal. Zero swelling, no real pain pills needed, none of the black and blues. So far I would say "great experience" and by that I mean as good as I could have hoped it would go. Yeah, it wasn't awesome to have someone operate on my junk but given it was a professional in a professional adult situation I wasn't too worried about it.

Nope, just take it easy and get a bag or frozen peas, stick them in your shorts and just relax for a few days.

But stuck more often.
I went in on Friday to get mine done by my Obamacare specialist. I'm in more and more pain all the time now. I called the specialist this morning. He said if they don't fall off by tonight he will wrap the rubber band around them a few more times in the morning. It's killing me, but I'm sure it will be done soon, and at least my deductable was $0.00.

I've got a date with the doc in four weeks. Snippety snippety! Dr. Platt in Provo gets the honors of fondling my bean bag. One of my best friends had his done last week, he said it wasn't too bad. But he got bored indoors too quick and went out running errands for work the next day and he paid for it. Yesterday he said he can finally cross his ankles without hurting.

I was helping a friend tear the shingles off roof of his garage in the afternoon when I had it done that morning.

Two bags of frozen peas. Rotate them.

You will feel better then you are. Give it a day longer then you think it needs. I hurt myself the day after and then recovery strung out an extra week.

They gave me valium before but I should have taken it an hour prior to when I did. It didn't kick in until afterward. The numbing shot burns but not that bad. The cut didn't hurt. The cauterizing smells. But the big surprise was the clips. Those felt like I was kicked in jewels.

One of those things you don't want to do again but is worth it.

Well it’s been a little over three years since we started this topic… But my fear of an accidental child has now overcome my fear of getting snipped. Got my appointment scheduled for a time with a good break in between motorcycle races.

I was all set to get one too, then my neighbor put a quick stop to that! He got snipped 10 years ago. Two weeks ago they gave birth to a baby girl! How's that for an accidental child?
