The whole table build started cause my wife saw one she liked online to the tune of like 4500 bucks, naturally I scoffed and said I can build it much cheaper..... I started it like 3 years ago and then shoved it a corner. Looking back at the amount of shit she gave me for 3 years until I finished it, I really should have just bought the 4500 dollar table and been done with it

Finished the spare tire hitch carrier. It turned out OK. V2 planning has already started.

We just dismantled my son's NP231 from his Comanche. It was whining in four wheel drive and popping out of gear. The fluid that came out was not a good color and had metal flakes in in. I inspected all of the internal parts and nothing looked like it was losing metal. So I did a magnet test on the flakes and discovered the metal was aluminum. It took a bit to find the problem which wasn't obvious. The problem is that the big front output shaft bearing is spinning in the case and has hogged out the bearing pocket. So it looks like we are going to have to find him a new case. So much for a quick fix.

I want to know what tube and bushings you used for the hinge.
V2 should have the ability to insert a hitch to tow a trailer while the tire is on.
I had that problem back in the day. I just replaced the back cover. The worst part was figuring out the problem because the front output seal kept biting the dust at random. Pretty sure I replaced that seal 3-4 times before taking the case out and finding the issue.

I used a 2" tube with poly bushing, basic builder bushing, it ain't going to work. I'm going to try and turn some delrin to replace the poly bushing or get a bearing that fits since it's double shear. That's the only real dislike is the slip/sag in the hinge.

I found oiled bushings at McMaster for a 1" bolt, but they need a 1 1/4 ID tube to put them in. I'm having trouble finding that in small quantities for anything like a reasonable price.

Replaced the stock 2000 XJ switch panel with a 3D printed unit which increased the switch port count from 3 to 6.
I used one port for a BlueSea Dual USB plug, and also moved my on-board air compressor switch into this panel, using a matching aftermarket switch. I have one spare port for future accessories and also replaced the 12v port with a BlueSea marine grade unit.

Have you tried metal remnants in SLC? They have an online store too. No, I'd never heard of them. If their prices are better than Metal Supermarkets and their stuff is cleaner than the cutoffs at SSS then I'll be stoked.
edit - oh my goodness they're cheap! Wasatch wants $56 for a stick of 1.5x.120, Metal Remnants has it for $2.75 a foot or $16.50 for six feet, and no cut charge. That's awesome.
