    HITR trail

Funny, I ran it those same two years. I did see the turn off and it’s definitely well-traveled. I didn’t see any trail closure signs either. But now that I know, I’ll stay off of it. Going to the lookout and back is fun enough.

    HITR trail

Thanks for the info. I did not realize Rincon was closed. A fellow that I know told me 3 years ago that it’s a must do.

    HITR trail

I’ve been through this trail twice now. Both times in a side x side. This year, I’m thinking of taking a JL Unlimited Rubicon. 100% stock. (ie 33’s). Any thoughts? I know I’ll be fine through Marble Canyon. Getting up and down Grey Mesa, up and down the chute, I’m not sure. I’d also like...

Anyone been down by Moab or Swells recently?

I guess this means I need to travel further south. Valley of Fire or Death Valley.

Anyone been down by Moab or Swells recently?

Thanks. That’s what I figured. I’d be going solo so I’ll avoid areas with high probability of getting stuck.

Anyone been down by Moab or Swells recently?

I’m getting cabin fever and need to get out. I was down in the Swells early December with one of my daughters and had a great time. Went to that monolith by the Mars research center (can’t remember what it was called), up to factory butte, to swazey’s cabin, goblin valley, temple mtn, then back...

    Canyonlands in a stock Tacoma

Thank you, gents! Great inputs! Thanks for the video, also. So if I can, I will plan on getting some A/T tires (I've had good luck with BFG KO's in the past), and maybe sliders. I don't know how much truck's approach/dep angle compares to an F150, but hopefully with a good spotter (wife or...

    Canyonlands in a stock Tacoma

This year, I am looking to do some exploring down in Canyonlands. Going through the Maze district, Teapot, Chimney, Flint trail, etc. My Tacoma (double cab, TRD Off Road) is bone stock, down to the 31" tires. I've got a full-size spare, plugs and an air pump. How will it do? Are there any...

    4Runner -- traveling with kids

Thanks. Sequoia's would definitely work, and maybe it'll come to that. A friend of mine had an 05, which we took on road trips. It was very roomy and comfy. But I'm hoping the 4Runner will work, because it'll give the wife that much more buffer room. The van is a Sienna AWD. Road tripping...

    4Runner -- traveling with kids

I considered the GX, and have spent some time in them, as a couple of friends have them. They're really nice, and wouldn't mind getting one. But I prefer the better MPG and slightly more nimble feel of the 4Runner more. And I like the hatch door (w/ the window that rolls down) vs the barn...

    4Runner -- traveling with kids

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, my F150 has a ton of room. It will be missed. I've thought about a Land Cruiser as well, but: * 95% of the time, it will be just me driving around in it, other than taking the kids to school in the morning on my way to work. * MPG is noticeably worse than the...

    4Runner -- traveling with kids

Unfortunately, it may be time to sell off my F150. The truck is too big with my wife's new van in the garage. Not much room to maneuver her van in and out, so we're thinking of trading the F150 for a 4Runner. Slightly narrower width will help, but the much shorter length will make a big...

t mobile (tmobile) coverage in Utah?

I'm looking to switch carriers, as AT&T's prices have gotten a little over the top. Plus the fact they don't do contracts (or phone subsidies), so I'm pretty much done with them. T-Mobile seems to have good pricing, and from what I hear, decent coverage. But those are from people that stay...

    Canyonlands - Needles, The Maze

Thanks for all the inputs. Looks like I'll remove the front air dam and running boards before heading out. I'll have to maybe get some short mud flaps to minimize rock chips. These KO2's like to sling rocks.
