I just put a 2inch body lift on my yj and now the trans shifter is too short for comfort. Is is screwed on or bolted on to the trans? How do i get it off of the trans so that i can cut it and add some length?

i will be lifting my 99 xj soon and decided that i would like to fit 32-33s. i do a fair amount of wheeling and know that a long arm lift is best for ride quality and flex. My question is how do i choose the lift and what is the best bang for my buck?
