Greg, I found your next Trar

I found this gem on FB marketplace near me. It makes me wish I had a place to keep it. Much cooler than Greg's old Trar. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3478294585584260/

Jeep Gregs Willys CJ2a, rusto-mod version

It sounds like we have been living parallel lives. I have been fixing up my Landcruiser and you have been fixing your Flattie. Do you have a pressure washer to clean the undercarriage off with? If not, you are welcome to mine.

Jeep Gregs Willys CJ2a, rusto-mod version

Congratulations Greg! Here is a picture of my cousin's Jeep to give you some ideas. His is pretty much stock but he still uses it every year to go hunting in the Bookcliff Mountains between here and Green River.

    Reporting mental illness

Do you believe the person is a danger to themselves or others? If not, the boss is probably working with them on it as they do not want to face a discrimination lawsuit for taking action against someone who is trying to get it together. Of course the boss would not want to tell others of this...

    Trailer battery

I went from a size 24 to a size 27 this past year. I am not sure how much difference it makes, but I am hopeful that the bigger battery allows more time with my trailer. Can anyone tell me how I can figure out if my truck with charge my trailer battery while I am traveling?

    Jeeper's 2006 6.0 F350

Good for you for doing the work yourself. I had my radiator replaced at a shop when I had some other work done as I did not have the time to do the work myself.

    Jeeper's 2006 6.0 F350

I also vote for keeping it. I have a 2007 with the 6.0 and have owned it for nearly three years and 22,000 miles. I have not had any problems outside of general maintenance on it. If there is something on the engine to be worked on, I take it to the high dollar diesel shop that knows their...

    Jeeper's 2006 6.0 F350

Not the outcome I was hoping for you to have. Did you pay the guy with cash, credit or check? I don't know that I would have much patience to keep on taking it back to him to fix it again if it was mine.

What a Tacoma is not meant for

Yes, it was surprising to me as well. I thought they would have been closer to the same weight. The 1981 was a long bed, 4x4 with an in cab roll cage. The 1985 was an Xcab, 4x4, had a camper shell, was lifted and had bigger tires.

What a Tacoma is not meant for

The power was not the problem with me either, nor was braking. The problem was the weight issue, as the first generation (79-83) trucks outweigh the second generation (84-94) trucks.

What a Tacoma is not meant for

Sounds similar to an experience I had several years ago: A 1985 Toyota XCab truck is not meant to flat tow a 1981 Toyota truck. I did end up taking the 2500 mile trip, but my top speed was 50mph and it took six days to get to my destination. Any faster and it got really scary quick.

    Wanted: New to me Truck

Those Chevys you are looking at are priced way too high in my opinion. I bought my 2007 F250 two years ago from a dealer in Arizona. It has the 6.0 in it but was well maintained by the original owner, a 63 year old man. I picked it up for less than those Chevys are priced at and it had...

    Jeeper's 2006 6.0 F350

I hope that you are just working all the bugs out of it from the previous bad maintenance. Hopefully the shop did the work on it right and it is great that they are standing behind their work. I have had my 2007 F250 for two years and put 17,000 miles on it during that time. So far, so good...

I want to drive/ride to Hyder, AK next year...

Ouch, 4000 miles for a trip to Hyder, vs. 7000 miles for a trip to Homer. Add 4-5 children into that equation for long periods of driving and that sounds like a recipe for insanity. I may have to think of some different options.

Do they make a skid plate and HID light bar for a Honda Odyssey? Or perhaps I should take my F250, decisions, decisions.

I want to drive/ride to Hyder, AK next year...

I am contemplating putting Alaska on my list for this summer as well, although my plan is very different. I am looking to change jobs to a school based position that makes half the money I am making now. My children's needs require me to make this switch and there will be additional income due...

    My Backcountry Family Hauler Build

Time for an update: I got the roof jacked out enough to get another windshield in and had the windshield guy confirm it would work. In the meantime, another donor caught my eye at a mechanic shop here in town. The owner had added snake oil to it hoping to mask a head gasket problem and the...
