Went in today to work on the buggy, but forgot the stuff I needed. Glade was in there working on his rear bumper/Tire carrier, so I said screw it and helped him knock out most of it. I had to leave at 3pm today, but he is still going after it. Its close.

Best part is that with the tire on it the frame height in the rear dropped 1.5". Its at 26-1/4". Front after pulling the "HD" leaf is at 25.5". I bet it sits level when were done with it at 25" overall.

IMHO, the ride height is about perfect now considering its on leaf springs. Especially considering this thing start just under 29" frame height.

For the record. This is NOT a production carrier. They can only be built in-house on the vehicle itself. And, yes, its another "lambo" style tire carrier.

Pretty close to done. We just need to figure out the strut, and then get the Delrin into place to help preload the thing. But, I saw it tonight and its extremely solid already.

3.4L Turbo'd

He's driving it around. He is waiting on a custom harness for the AEM brain to really dial it in, but its moving around now.

Current ride height now. This is MUCH lower than when first finished.

That is pretty badass. Is it boosting without a tune or does it have a basemap or FMU meanwhile?

Looking great. What did you do to get it to sit lower? Have the springs just settled, or did you remove a leaf or two? Do you mind measuring the frame height right under the drivers door?

Pulled the "HD" leaf out of the front packs. Which is pointless anyway as its too stiff with that spring anyway. Tire carrier adds the rest in the rear. That and wheeling it from time to time helps it settle. Frame height is 25.5".

With the amount of flex the motor mounts might give, it might be a good idea to replace the coupler on the charge pipe by the battery with a flex coupler no? That will reduce the risk of blowing a coupler off and hearing scary booms :D

But since you're using v-bands it might not be an issue, especially if the pipes have a bead or lip on the edge, but just a good precaution I think. Also if you spray the pipe with hairspray before putting on the silicone coupler it helps to seal and prevent boost leak.
