Nice should be good to see how they turn out. I say do the tube fenders.

Thanks just got to wait until the shop clears some of the customer cars then ill put it on a lift and start cleaning to mount these lights. Im trying to think of ways to mount these tube fenders to the sidekick and replace the stock fenders completely but may wait until i see where this deal goes on possibly trading it off for a cherokee.

Thanks steve. I had those round lights under it on frame but being 110 Lumens and in a ways under my body they didnt reach out much so I decided to add the 9.5" led strips that I had been selling before and bam it does the trick. I think I will take the 9.5" leds off the sides in a few weeks and put some 40" ones on and then put some 9.5" in the wheel wells as well as a couple in the engine bay on a different switch for light when im working on the motor.

On another note im taking the sidekick up to the Layton Fat Bobs Garage location and will be getting the fenders trimmed a bit more and get the 2" flares taken off for some 4" ones to help cover my 32" tires a bit better so I dont get mud in my face. I will also be getting some traces of my door panels for some diamond place replacements.

Cell phone pictures dont do it real justice but here are a couple to show the brightness of the light bar.

Still waiting on the light tabs to be made as well as a truss to bridge my front control arms so I can mount my front skid plate. In the meantime ive had the sidekick tinted and it looks way better now.

Oh joy. Time to sell a TON of stuff off for a motor swap or just trade the sidekick off. Thanks to Jeeper for pulling over this afternoon on I15 when he saw me and asked if I needed any help.

Found a 95 jlx sidekick to take the motor from to put in mine. Awesome thing too is that it also has a/c that I desperately need in my sidekick. Now to scrounge up the cash to buy it.

Why don't you put all your stuff on that jlx instead? It looks way more family friendly.

It is and I would much rather have it but ive promised a buddy a body for his and with our move to provo, school, and having to find a full time job I wont have time to do any motor work so I need to bribe him in some way. Since we are losing an income we had planned on just parking the sidekick anyways and just have it as an offroad vehicle and start going out more as a family.

Made some progress on parts ordering for the sidekick last night by ordering for the donor motor a water pump, timing belt and tensioner, cam and crank seals. Next I need to order a rear main seal and gasket, new flywheel, and new clutch.

Also ordered a 31" dual row led light bar lastnight. Now for this to be mounted I will have to make a "C" shaped bracket to sit in my channel on the roof, bolt up to the pinch weld on top and allow me to mount the bar on top of it.

Finally got to get into the donor motor this last weekend and installed a new timing belt, water pump, rear main seal and gasket, front and rear cam seals. Still have a few more things to do but hopefully in the next month it will finally be sitting in my sidekick and running.

Things I still need to get: oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, serpentine belt and cs130 gm alternator.

In the works right now I have a shop making some brackets that will mount between the mirrors and doors with a tab above the mirrors allowing me to put some of my dually style lights on the doors as well as a couple brackets that will mount to my roof pinch welds allowing for the mounting of the light bar.

So my buddy just gave me a call and told me that the motor should be done in about 2 weeks and ready to drive down to our home here in provo. So to prep for getting it and having to pass safety and emissions as well as to spice it up some I got a few things: All element ramps, removable mudflaps, working gauge cluster with white face overlays and led backlighting(mine currently doesnt track miles), k&n air filter, billet transmission knob, led domelight, 2-1600 lumen flood light cubes(currently have a friend that just made light mount tabs to go around my mirrors but no photo just yet), and 6-220 lumen rocklights.

Getting even more excited now, got a call lastnight that the motor is in and I should be able to pick this up next week from my buddy and bring it home to start preparing it for the safety and emissions testing. In preparation for the testing and not having a "hook up" anymore I need to get rid of the cut to fit flares on it that dont quite cover my 32's and found some jimney flares that are similar to the bushwackers.

Also the wife wants to go see the famous arch down south and I have talked her into finally letting me go to Moab. So... what are some easy and fairly mild trails for a rig like this without lockers and not wanting to truly break anything since this is our dd.

you're thinking of delicate arch in Arches NP. There's a cool dirt road that'll take you there. Look at your wells book or your benchmark atlas, it'll be in both of those.

Finally got the sidekick back but upon starting to drive it to work and back I have noticed that the temp doesnt rise at all and when the rpms drop below 1k the oil light comes on and once above that it turns off as well as the speedometer quit working. So tomorrow a new speedometer cable goes in and a new temp sensor. I also went to harbor freight a couple days ago and got a pressure gauge to check the oil pressure to see if thats good or if I need to get a new pump or pressure sensor.

I got the front flares on a couple days ago and really like them versus the flexi cut to fit flares I had, just need to put the rear ones on tomorrow and redo the decals that will be partially covered by the flare that mounts to the door.
