I'm looking again. Could be part time or full time. While I like my current job, the killer commute is killing me, and living paycheck to paycheck is taking it's toll. I'd like to find something hands on that will help me build a trade. I am good with hands-on stuff, and very willing to learn. I'd prefer to find something with fabrication or metal work, but will most likely be happy with anything, as long as it's not staring at a computer screen all day. I'm great with people and can talk to almost anyone and make them feel comfortable. I have a bachelors degree, but its in a very fun, yet almost entirely useless major (adventure recreation), so it's time to start over. Any ideas??

Cliff Notes and My Personal Thoughts Having Done the Job... The BAD: A lot of travel (Elko, NV to Rock Springs, WY and Rexburg ID to the Southern Utah border); Tough for family-oriented people. You don't work 24/7, but I want you "on" 24/7. To do the job well it takes dedication and great follow-up skills. You have to be very flexible. Sales quota is a commitment, not a goal. A fair amount of paperwork. Must be decent at math. The GOOD: Company Vehicle: All travel expenses paid; Never a Dull Day; You make your own schedule; Freedom, more or less. The harder you work, the more you will see results ($). It can be a fun job, and you meet a lot of GREAT people. If you enjoy traveling, seeing the areas around Utah, can build relationships, and want to help your customers succeed, it's a great gig.

I'll have an ad on Careerbuilder.com soon, but figured I'd post this here now. PM me if you want more info.

For the right person, it definitely is. The hardest part about it is the extensive travel. It's one of the largest NAPA territories out there, but it's got to be the most scenic.

When I was an account manager for JL Audio, I started at my home in Draper and visited accounts through Northern UT, Southern ID, Western MT, Eastern MT, WY, CO and then Southern UT. I'd be on the road 15 hrs a day 3 weeks out of each month. The final week of the month I worked out of my home office or fly to FL every 2nd month. I did have a sales assistant back in FL who helped me process orders and such. I couldn't imagine doing that job without her.
I was also the key account trainer and had to fly out of my territory to handle events for Car Toys and Tweeter.... it was pretty hard core.
