Finished up the fabrication on the TJ bumper/tire carrier last night.

Then broke it back down and put it in the truck to take to the powder coater.

Thanks for looking.

Made a bracket that replaced my ash tray in order to mount my scangauge in the Taco. Seems like a good spot, nearly direct routing to the ODB plug.
Just a flat plate cut, drilled and bent. Bolts directly into the ashtray mount.

I also opened up my beadlocks and poured a bunch of Stans into them to see if I can get the inner bead to seal better and not burp. I would have done the gorilla tape trick but I was genius enough to weld a slightly larger retainer bead onto the rim and now I can break the inner bead.:oops:

At least your drain was installed properly. You should see what the previous owner did in my basement bathroom. Let’s just say, butt joint with plumbers putty. Effing moron.

Also just finished up today: New fuel tank is in and a few tabs to mount a CB. Took her for a spin around the block. I really need to pull the motor and fix the exhaust header leak (tick tick tick). Maybe after the upcoming trip.

You have to pull the motor to pull the header? F that, I'd be cutting tube out first and then welding flanges back on and bolting the tube back in.

yea, only because the leak is all the way back near the firewall, which is pushed pretty far into the cab (long block). It's not a bad pull and there's some other things I want to address while I have it out.

I arrived home from a week in Monument Valley with the wife and got right back to work. Picked up the bumper from the powder coater after a ten hour day at work then settled in for 4+ hours in the shop finishing up this TJ bumper and tire carrier so the owner can come and pick it up.
After unwrapping it.
