I'm not trying to typecast people because I know it's not a one shoe-fits-all situation, but it certainly seems to be a very certain type of person that likes to throw the biggest fit. Some of the reviews on a friend's restaurant were from a lady who represents some tactical equipment/clothing company. The irony is, people on that side of the coin seem annoyed that people who don't generally know much about guns and/or gun ownership are the ones making policy for guns, yet they themselves have zero background in health, science, politics, medicine, or economics (beyond their own internet echo-chambers) and somehow are the foremost ****ing expert on the "scamdemic" (as she put it) and how global leaders should be handling it. Nevermind the fact that they will claim it's their right to defend their home and their family with their weapons, but it's not OK for a small business owner to defend their own livelihood by taking every possible step necessary to prevent their staff from getting sick and therefore jeopardizing their ability to provide for their own family (and the families of those that work for them). We had to close down for lunch 2 days last week because 2 of my cooks were out sick (not Covid, thankfully), and I just plain couldn't work my existing kitchen staff any more than 18 straight days. If I were to get 3-4 employees out sick at once, even if it's not that severe, it shuts me down for a week and costs me tens of...dollars. It's just so self centered and selfish to be angry with business owners who are doing what they need to do to protect their own livelihoods. Wearing a mask is inconvenient? Boo hoo. Try operating a restaurant during a pandemic and get back to me.

Anyway, this lemming got his second shot today. Whistle go woooo!

I don't get the people making a big deal about it. The masks are annoying, but that's all they are. Making a fuss about it in public makes you an asshole.

I'm like a racecar on red at this point (did you know racecar spelled backwards, is racecar? fun facts). I'm about to put a cage in my side parking lot, and everyone that comes down and gives me or any one of my employees any shit over the mask is going to have to enter this cage with me and all 1000 lbs of my pent up aggression.

There is a truly disturbing amount of groupthink and bullsh!t partisanship on both sides of just about every issue out there right now, and there doesn't seem to be hardly anybody out there capable of stepping back and looking at an issue through any other lense than whatever their preferred political party/ideological supplier spoonfeeds them. The US as a whole is lazy and ignorant and polarized on every issue and just wants to take sides and beat the other side over the head about it. The cognitive dissonance is so loud that it's just background noise at this point, and I'm sick of it, and that offgrid cabin in Montana is looking better and better every day.

I got my second shot of Pfizer today too. Let me know when it's time to all go jump off a cliff together.

I'd have a beer while watching that. Cage fights are awesome.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
My sister got her second shot of Pfizer Monday night. She is super sick right now, and telling me not to get it. I wasn't planning on it. What's really interesting (and I had no idea of this) is that she was given a "vaccine card" as proof of vaccination?!?!? Is this a thing? Granted, she lives in Alaska so that might be their thing. What's also interesting is that the card says her vaccination expires 7-31-2021. It doesn't say anything about what happens after that date.

Is Utah handing out a similar card?

I was sick for about a day after my second Pfizer vaccine. Seems pretty common. Like the virus itself, it seems pretty dependant on the person as to how bad you get sick. For me, it pretty much felt the same as when I had covid just for a shorter duration of time. I do have a CDC record card that has my name, DOB the product name, lot number of the vaccine, the date issued, and a signature from the person that administered it to me. no expiration date.

I'm so confused by this fascination with the vaccine card. Do people not know that whenever you get a vaccine (or any medical procedure), your provider makes a record of it? Used to be that they would give you a card that shows you got your chicken pox, or mumps, or tetanus shot and you'd keep that for your personal records. Now its all usually just accessible online so they don't normally give you a physical document.

I can only speak to myself personally. While the card really means nothing with how easily you could make a fake one it is something that shows I have been vaccinated. I will be traveling the next few weeks into areas like Portland and Seattle for work and I feel like I was only able to get the appointments I did because of the fact I openly told them I had the vaccinations before requesting the meeting. I will take the card and be happy to show it to any of my customers that ask to see it while I doubt any will. Also, I have conventions later this year stating they will require you to be vaccinated to attend.. Is it going to be the honor system? Will I have to upload an image of my card? I don't know. What about getting into Canada when the border opens? I know they will want some kind of proof.

Still supporting businesses that don't mandate masks when no mandate is in place, still avoiding those that do. No problem either way. Thank goodness I'm not in Utah. Probably for me and for Utah.
Similar to Idaho, it's just mostly the bigger cities that are still full retard.
I will say, traveling up there in Idaho a couple months ago was a breath of fresh air though. Pun kind of intended?

Not wanting to be the one to stir the pot too much, but I expect soon to start seeing the same people who down play COVID as "99.7% survive" (not even a fact base claim) use a death rate of 0.000014% as a reason not to vaccinate.

I agree. And the card makes a quick reference especially when scheduling second dose. You need to know product etc.
