Well, I'm only 1.5 - 2 years late on this, but just wanted to say that the 4Runner is still on the road, despite that winter rollover. It just has a little more character now...
It took a new windshield, 2 new doors with glass, one rear-quarter glass, some plexi for a homemade replacement...
Nicely done Steve, thanks! If that's supposed to be bad work on your part, I'm really gonna have to watch your other videos.
I have to say, it is missing one thing though... The pucker factor of actually being in the truck for that!
That would have been cool. Maybe next summer a bunch of guys throw in $25 or so and buy a junker to take up there and push over. The clean up operation might be a bigger job than saving my truck though, haha.
I'd be down for that, but the windshield would be tough. The passenger side of it is...
Well that's awesome news!
...Unfortunately I have some bad news to go with it. And you guys are going to hate me for it, haha.
Two or three weeks ago, my brother was in town and we took the 4Runner out to go shooting. On the way back, black ice -
I lost the back end on a slight curve...
I'm on the fence for Fri (but very likely), I'll just have to leave by 9 or 9:30.
Unfortunately though, Sat is my buddy's birthday, so I'm out as far as the trail runs.
Now that I still have a rig, I might be able to make some of Fri night/Sat. Won't be able to stay the night, but I should be able to meet up with you guys at some point.
The stakes came out and Josh generously offered them to whoever was interested.
I wasn't really involved with the generators, but I know that the bigger one wouldn't start in the parking lot, so someone was able to grab a couple smaller ones that were nearby.
I don't think Bart was able to nail down the cause out there, but the consensus was that it was very possibly just a loose wire somewhere.
Hopefully it will be an easy fix...
