    My CNC drawing machine!

You are slowly assembling a complete fab shop! I am going to have to stop by and take a look at things. The kids are dying for an excuse to come over there and play again anyway! I have a few questions about the willys as well...

    Moab, Nov 8th-10th--now with pics!

Well, I guess I will come out of lurking for a quick post... What a great trip! (at least until Gooney Bird). It isn't too often that I am able to go wheelin' when it isn't work related. Bob- hope the trip wasn't considered a total loss. You were able to check quite a few things off your 'to do...

    Jeep Willys ground-up build

Awesome! You better get a lot done this week!!!!!! Cage looks great!! What is the ground clearance of your engine at ride height?! I am trying to decide where to mount mine in relation to the tub & frame (keep center of gravity low, but push the engine up as high as possible for clearance)!

Any Safety Inspectors Here or Vehicle Law Know-It-Alls?

I was wondering how the project was coming.... I hadn't heard anything about it for awhile, and hadn't seen things happening in the garage for awhile. Good to see that it is still in progress! -Vinny

U4 Members, VOTE for the new logo NOW!

I think that the issue of the outline can easliy be resolved with a semi-tradional sticker design like the one attached below. If you are wondering, Yes I am the artist of the logo in question. The reasons that I choose the artwork is because Moab will always be an area that will...

EJS no longer to be at Easter?

I think that Cody brings up the facts of the matter in this debate. just by changing the date of the 'official' safari won't keep out any alcohol or party people. It might reduce them, but they will still be there. And then of course they will be there during easter. What really needs to...

    HELP!! Engine problems

Just have Dennis come over there and look at it. Unless you have tried that and they want you to pay for their appraisal. Or maybe try Ben he would probably help you out. I could give you my opinion but you know it would be wrong!

    has anyone ran thornbirds ?

Yep. Those things are loud, stiff, and get death wobble like crazy. MTRs or BFG muds are great for all around daily driving and the weekend trail ride.

    ? on tires and rims

The rule of thumb that I have heard before is to pick a rim that is 2" narrower than the tire width- i.e. 12.50's for a 10" rim. However most people will run about 4" narrower than their tire- like 12.50 on an 8" rim. Having more tire width than rim will 'balloon' the tire like the...

    3" body lift

I can read and that is why I stuck your junk in quotes... I never said that it would equal more articulation- only allow for more- READ my post. Who can run 35" tires (the norm for most people) with a 3" body lift? No Jeep that I know of, so you are going to have to do a suspension lift...

    3" body lift

That is the thing though, it doesn't provide more articulation, only allows for more, meaning that you will have to work on your suspension (that usually means a lift)--- Hence raising your COG even more. Vandall and RockMonkey are right on. 1" is about the best body lift to do. It will...

    3" body lift

Spend your money on a good suspension lift. Body lifts do nothing but raise your center of gravity. With a body lift the only thing you can do is run larger tires, but you get no additional suspension travel or anyting like that. It's not worth it in the long run if you plan on spending any...

    TeraFLex LCG

Tera has been revising the LCG for over a year now, so it is kind of hard to say what the kit is going to be like. The original Tera LCG had a front 4-link and a rear 3-link. After several revisions it now comes with front and rear 4-links, and this is how it should be in the 'production' models.
