I was referring to my first reply, my fault. I'm guessing that it's a semi-float, but I'll ask him to confirm.

Ok, back with non-bunk tech here. Buddy of mine has one in his garage. The 60 came out of a J-3000; non c-clipped, 1/4" wall tubes instead of the 1/2" I mistakenly posted earlier, 65" wms-wms, offset pig to the pass. side, stock 4.10s, no neck-downs, 5on5.5 bolt pattern. HTH.

I forget which Jeep J-Truck came with it, but these were the HD housings with 1/2" thick tubes, offset pumpkin, 35 spline, no neck downs and non c-clip D60s.

    Full size Axles under XJ

You won't ever need 60s for 35s. You can make D44s live with 37s if you baby it or run alloys. The best front 60 is obviously the Ford reverse spiral kingpin unit but they're very hard to come by in the junkyard and are far from cheap, complete units sold around $1200 or so. You're gonna...

    Rock Sliders for XJ

Mine are welded on. They've taken quite a few hits with no ill effects.

    What is your Rig?

Nope: Junk, Each and Every Part.

Welcome to NC dude, give it some time, you'll learn to like it... or just hate every minute of it.:D Andy Zuber @ Carolina Rock Shop does some very nice work and is very reasonable. You should definitely check him out - he does everything from cages to custom suspensions; very knowledgable...

Carrier strength, ring gear strength, bigger thicker tubes, bigger brakes, and optional 35 spline upgrade if you wish.

Yeah, I'll be around, although still at the beach. Have a safe trip man, see you soon enough. PEACE.

    Bad News/lift for XJ

Well, my main man backed out the other day, so its basically only me who'll be able to go anywhere. I'm still down to roll up to Brown or out to Uwharrie for some wheelin, so we'll see. As for your build up, I really wouldn't spend a whole lot of money on gears and lockers if you're only...

    Bad News/lift for XJ

I'd forget the SkyJacker kit unless you want to replace heims every 3 months. Nobody really cares about lift laws around these parts, nor do they care how far your tires hang out, nor do they care if you've got mudflaps or not. There is plenty of rocks if you know where to look...

    Bad News/lift for XJ

Well man, that sucks to hear they're selling your rig - but XJs aren't as bad as everybody makes them out to be. Yeah, its unibody, but all you need is a stiff 8 pt. cage to help it live a little longer. These model XJs ('97 and newer) have the non-disco HP30 front housings with 297/760...

    wheeling in North Carolina

Yes, Morganton is on the other end of the state. My parents live up at Lake Norman, which is 20 mins outside of Charlotte. I head home on the holidays so I can eat good ol' home cookin' - college life is hard.:D It takes me roughly 3-4 hours to get back home from Wilmington. From the Lake...

It's outside of Morganton rougly 30+ mins. There is absolutely NOTHING once you leave Morganton, so we usually fuel up and grab some grubb and take off from there. There's a little run down gas station just south of the trail head called Space Station :D (funky ass name huh?). Once you get to...
