When I did graveyards the best way to get to sleep was always total darkness. Black out curtains low watt bulbs in the room. Unwind for twenty mins low light then lights out. I found this worked best for me. Hope that helps. JM2C

My understanding when last I talked to them (years ago) the engine must be same year compliant or newer with all emission components intact. It may have changed since then.

Most radiator repair shops can boil the tank for you. Intermountain Radiator, J-Mac Radiator and State Street Radiator IIRC. They can clean and weld up holes in the tank. If needed they can coat the inside of the tank as well.

American Fork Canyon might be a minute or two more of a drive depending on where you live in the valley. It's a photo heaven with forest lake, steams, old mines and cabins. Great easy stuff and harder stuff to drive over. There are many great trip reports on it if you search trip reports section.

What part of skyline, above the B in Bountiful, Provo/Spanish Fork or farther south down by Mount Pleasant area? Above the B is a graded road over to Farmington Canyon. Cars can make it if they drive slow and careful. The side trails might give you trail pinstripes and some trail modified...

IIRC trans sensors can cause issues like you describe. Talk to a Toyota trans tech and see what they say. They may have a scanner to read the trans code as well. JM2C

I had one larger than that on some 33's a few years ago. Big O Tire repaired the side wall by vulcanizing it on the inside. After that I'd run the green Slime in it and call it good. It lasted 42k on and off road after the repair. JM2C

I have seen the hoses fail where they swell inside and restrict flow. Replaced the hoses and all was well.

Have you tried flipping the driveline to see if that clears? Some have done that swap. Could you take some photos to help show what the clearance problem is vs the driveline angle?
